Learn how to integrate your CRM data with My Event Fundraising’s fundraising API below.

Here at My Event Fundraising, we know that many organizations leverage a number of tools and apps to keep their businesses running. For your convenience, we’ve made sure that our API offers seamless integrations with existing systems to streamline and enhance the fundraising experience, giving you powerful decision-making tools to promote success with your campaigns.

In particular, we make it easy for organizations to incorporate their CRM data with My Event Fundraising fundraisers via ActiveCampaign. Find out more below.

Before you get started:

  • You will need one of ActiveCampaigns’ paid plans to integrate ActiveCampaign with My Event Fundraising.
  • Your ActiveCampaign user should have access to contact functionality.
  • You’ll also need to receive an ActiveCampaign API key to perform the integration.

Access your ActiveCampaign API key:

  1. Log in to your ActiveCampaign account.
  2. On the bottom-right corner, click on settings.
  3. In the menu on the left, click on developer.
  4. View your URL and key under API access

Once you have this information, you can then integrate your ActiveCampaign account with My Event Fundraising by following these simple steps:

  1. Log in to your My Event Fundraising account.
  2. In the menu on the left, click on integrations.
  3. Under ActiveCampaign, check the box to send donor information.
  4. Enter the URL and API Key from ActiveCampaign into the available fields.
  5. Click validate connection to test your integration.
  6. Click save on the bottom of the page to save your settings.

After successfully linking your ActiveCampaign account, My Event Fundraising will create a contact in ActiveCampaign whenever a donation is made to one of your organization’s campaigns. If there is already a contact in your ActiveCampaign with the same email address as the donor, My Event Fundraising will update that contact. This ensures your marketing data is always up-to-date, thereby helping you to engage with your audience throughout the course of a campaign and during future fundraising efforts.

Here are the basic fields from contact data which My Event Fundraising captures:

  • Donor’s email address
  • Donor’s first name
  • Donor’s last name
  • Donor’s phone number

You can also choose to send additional donation information (if collected) by syncing your custom contact fields.

Send custom fields with ActiveCampaign contacts:

  1. In the same section where you entered your ActiveCampaign credentials in My Event Fundraising, click on sync custom fields under custom contact fields.
  2. For each donor field that you would like to attach to ActiveCampaign Contacts, select a custom contact field from the dropdown menu. Note: If you cannot find the custom contact field you are looking for, make sure you have created it in ActiveCampaign first. Click sync custom fields again after creating the custom field in ActiveCampaign.
  3. Click save on the bottom of the page to save your settings.

Here are the additional fields that can be sent to ActiveCampaign as custom fields:

  • Donor’s mailing address 1
  • Donor’s mailing address 2
  • Donor’s mailing address 3
  • Donor’s city
  • Donor’s state/region
  • Donor’s postal code
  • Donor’s country
  • Last donation amount
  • Last donation date
